Adding a new page

1. Login to dashboard (e.g: www.yoururl.com/wp-admin/)

2. Hover over 'Pages' on the left side of the screen and click 'Add New'

3. Input your content; please see the WordPress Guide on using the wordpress editor

4. If your new page is a subpage (i.e. sits within a particular section) you would specify this via the right sidebar, within 'Page Attributes'.  Select from the drop-down under 'Parent' to specify which section your page will sit within.

5. Depending on what section your page is sitting in, you may have to change the template it uses.  Leave the default Template if you want the page to have the standard Charity layout with the right sidebar like the 'First Aid Event Cover' page. If the new page is to go within the Youth section, make the Parent 'Youth Members' and change the Template to 'Youth Default Page'.  If the new page is to go within the Training section, make the parent "Training" and set the Template to 'Courses default page'.  This will ensure the correct Header and Footer appears on your page.

5. You can preview any changes you’ve made before saving to make sure you’re happy with your edits by clicking the ‘Preview Changes’ button to the right of your screen

6. Once ready to put your page live, click 'Publish' which is to the right side of your screen.

Approach 2

2. Click ‘Pages’ on the left side of the screen

3. If you can see the page you want to edit on the list, you can use the search bar at the top right of the screen. Once found on the list, click the page you want to edit.

4. See steps 5-7 above in Approach 1.

Please note that you should ensure images are no larger than 860px in width when adding them to your content.

Adding a Page to the Menu

1. Hover over 'Appearance' on the left bar and click 'Menus'

2. Select your page from the left side checkbox list and click 'Add to Menu'

3. The new menu item automatically gets added to the bottom of the menu structure, but you can drag and drop it to wherever you want it to be.  Top level menu items are left aligned.  If you want to create a sub-menu, you can drag the menu item to be indented below it's parent menu item.

4. Once happy with the ordering, click the 'Save' button to the top right of menu structure.
