Adding a new Blog Post

1. Login to dashboard (e.g: www.yoururl.com/wp-admin/)

2. Hover over 'Posts' on the left side of the screen and click 'Add New'

3. Input your content; please see the WordPress Guide on using the wordpress editor

4. Tick the category your post falls into (right side of screen)

5. Click 'Set featured image' at the bottom of the right sidebar and ensure it doesn't exceed 768px in width

6. Once ready to put your post live, click 'Publish' which is to the right side of your screen.



Editing an existing Blog Post

There are two ways you can edit a page in WordPress, which are explained below:

 

Approach 1

1. Login to dashboard (e.g: www.yoururl.com/wp-admin/)

2. Hover over your company name at the top left of the screen, and click ‘Visit Site

3. Navigate to the post you wish to edit

4. On the black bar at the top of the page, click ‘Edit Post

5. To edit the content please see the WordPress Guide on using the wordpress editor

6. You can preview any changes you’ve made before saving to make sure you’re happy with your edits by clicking the ‘Preview Changes’ button to the right of your screen

7. Once happy with your edits, click ‘Update’ and this will make your changes live on the site.

 

 

Approach 2

1. Login to dashboard (e.g: www.yoururl.com/wp-admin/)

2. Click ‘Posts’ on the left side of the screen

3. If you can see the post you want to edit on the list, you can use the search bar at the top right of the screen. Once found on the list, click the post you want to edit.

Making a Blog Post always sit at the top


1. Log into dashboard

2. Go to 'Posts'

3. Hover over the title of the post you'd like to sit at the top and select 'Quick Edit' link

4. Tick the box that says 'Make this post sticky'

5. Click Update button
